A Customer Select PIN (CSP) system allows you to select, set and change customer PIN numbers on personal debit or credit cards.

Financial cards are an integral part of the customer's daily life and their banking experience. The customer now expects a selectable personalised PIN number during new card issuance and card PINning.

Giving the customer the freedom to control and customise their banking experience supports the branding and customer service aspects of your bank. A customer selected PIN is also easier to remember and reduces the need and cost of PIN re-issuance.

Select, Set or Change Customer Card PIN numbers

PersonalisedPIN provides multiple card PINning options for maximum flexibility with banking systems. Using PersonalisedPIN, cardholders can walk out of the branch with a card that can be used immediately.

In-branch or remotely, a customer can PIN their card from anywhere. Remote PINning gives the convenience of PINning without visiting a branch. This can be achieved through methods such as using the internet, phone, or mail. In-branch card PINning allows for heightened customer engagement and forgotten PIN re-issuance (see below).

Reported worldwide studies have accounted for up to 50-60% of call centre calls are for issues related to Passwords and PIN ID.

Features such as trivial PIN checking will prevent cardholders from selecting insecure PINS such as 1111, 1234 or 9876.

Customers who select their own card PIN number are less likely to forget their PIN, which reduces the customer support and re-issuance costs for your organisation.

Forgotten PIN Re-issuance - In-branch Advantage
In-branch card PINning allows for direct customer engagement and for re-issuance of forgotten PINs or lost cards. This can only be carried out in the branch to verify the cardholders identity through standard ID checks with staff and customer present.

  • Change a "Known" PIN

    Uses current PIN as proof of identity before allowing the customer to change their PIN.
  • Change a "Forgotten" PIN

    Requires photo proof of identity (passport or photo driver’s licence) to validate that the card does belong to the client.
  • PIN Verify

    Proves that the customer knows the PIN of a card, therefore is the legal owner of the account.
  • Read a Card

    Reads the track data stored on the card to provide a fast and unconfirmed method of identifying the card, which can be used to bring up customer accounts.
